Who we are.
CAMUK ("we", "us", "our") is a community led organisation supporting Cameroonians living, studying, working, and raising families in the United Kingdom. We operate this website (camuk.net), run in person and online gatherings, and deliver mentorship and welcome programmes.
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the site and any related services, including events you book through us and donations you make to us.
Your agreement.
By using camuk.net, registering for one of our events, or accepting a place on a CAMUK programme, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please don't use the site or join our activities.
If you're acting on behalf of an organisation a partner, a sponsor, a press outlet you confirm you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
Acceptable use.
You agree to use our services in good faith and in line with applicable UK law. In particular, you agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate against any person online or in person.
- Disrupt the site, attempt to access systems you're not authorised to, or interfere with other people's use.
- Misrepresent your identity or your affiliation with CAMUK, our partners, or our members.
- Use our name, marks, or photographs to imply an endorsement we haven't given.
- Scrape, mass-download, or commercially redistribute content from the site.
We hold each other to a higher bar than the law alone. Anyone whose behaviour makes the room less safe by any of the protected characteristics, or simply by being persistently unkind can expect to be asked to step away.
Membership & events.
Some events are open to the public; others are members only or by invitation. Where a ticket, RSVP, or registration is required, you agree to the event specific terms presented at sign-up which may include a code of conduct, a photography notice, or accessibility information.
We reserve the right to refuse entry, end a membership, or remove anyone whose conduct is unsafe, disrespectful, or in clear breach of these Terms. Tickets and RSVPs are personal to you and non transferable unless we say otherwise.
If an event is cancelled or rescheduled, we'll let you know as quickly as we can and refund any paid ticket where applicable.
Donations & payments.
Donations on this site are processed by our payment partner, Stripe Payments UK Ltd. We do not see or store your full card details. By donating, you confirm the funds are yours to give and that the gift complies with any rules that apply to you (for example, employer or workplace giving programmes).
UK Gift Aid is available where you confirm your eligibility at checkout. Donations are voluntary; refunds are issued only where required by law or where there has been a clear processing error please get in touch within 30 days.
Intellectual property.
All content on this site text, photographs, illustrations, logos, video, layouts, code, and design belongs to CAMUK or its contributors and is protected by copyright and related rights. You may share links to our public pages freely.
You may not reproduce, adapt, redistribute, or use our content commercially without prior written permission. For press and partnership requests, write to info@camuk.net.
Content you share.
If you submit content to us a message, an introduction, a story, a photograph, a comment in our community spaces you keep ownership of it. You grant CAMUK a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, and (where relevant) share that content within the community and as part of our communications.
Please only share content you have the right to share, and please don't share other people's personal details without their permission.
Third-party links.
The site links to external websites venues, partners, payment providers, government services. We include them because we think they're useful, but we're not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Your use of those sites is governed by their own terms.
Limitation of liability.
We work hard to keep the site accurate and the events well-run, but we provide everything "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CAMUK, its trustees, volunteers, and partners are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the site or attendance at our gatherings.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited under English law.
Changes & governing law.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The Effective date at the top of this page reflects the latest version. Material changes will be flagged on the site. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
