This event took place on 14–15 August 2026. Thank you to everyone who came.
Two days, one ballroom, and the warmest summer night Leicester has seen. Open to all CAMUK members and friends — bring your finest, bring a plus-one.
Once a year, the whole community gets in one room. Last year it was a garden party in London. This year we're going bigger — a two-day Bridgerton-themed ball in the heart of Leicester, with a daytime cultural programme on the Friday and the main ball on the Saturday night.
It's our biggest moment of the year. People come down from Manchester, up from London, across from Leeds and Birmingham. Everyone is welcome — members, friends of members, and Cameroonians who haven't found us yet.
Doors open. Drinks, ndolé, and the first chance to find your people in the room.
Music, makossa, a short panel on Cameroonians-in-the-UK then & now, and a fashion segment from member designers.
The lighter, looser evening session. DJ set, late dinner, soft landing for those flying in late.
Black-tie regency dress. Welcome cocktails at 6, sit-down dinner at 7:30, dance floor open from 10. Live band, DJ, full menu.
One last drink, the photo we'll all want, and a thank-you to the volunteers who built the night.
Your best regency attire — gowns, tailcoats, sashes, gloves, fascinators. We'll have a small dressing-help corner on the night for anyone who wants a hand. Photo ID at the door for ticketed entry.
